Whether you’re having a traditional mehndi night for your wedding or are looking to add henna to a lady’s night, birthday party, corporate gathering, or school event, I’ve got you covered. Pregnancy henna is a wonderful way to honor the journey of growing a human and to pamper parents-to-be! While I always use hand crafted, natural and safe henna paste, I take extra care to use pregnancy safe essential oils in my paste for pregnant clients. (If you have any concerns, please check with your health care provider.) A third trimester belly makes a great canvas and is the most popular time to get maternity henna; however, you can get henna at any point in your pregnancy and on most any location on your body. I often encourage my pregnancy clients to think of symbols or design elements that may be important to them through their journey so that I can create a special piece that is unique for the individual!
NOTE: Please come with clean skin, free of oils and lotions, and plan to avoid showering for about 24 hours after application. Ideally, you will want to wear a long, dark, snug fitting tank or shirt to pull over your belly when you are done (or plan to stay exposed).
Your wedding is a special day and your mehndi should be as beautiful as you. Often I can come to you for your bridal henna so that you can sit tight and keep your paste intact as long as possible, but I am able to take brides in my Grand Rapids studio if you would prefer to come to me.
I do require a consultation for bridal henna so we can set expectations for time and costs. You are welcome to call me to discuss your ideas or send an email with photos that are close to what you are thinking. If you would like an in person consultation for a small fee, they can be done in my studio and will include a mini sample design.
Henna is a wonderful way to temporarily decorate a bald or shaved head. For those who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy or alopecia, it can help to go without head coverings with confidence.
NOTE: Please come to your appointment with your head clean of lotion, makeup, or oils. You may also bring a snug fitting cap that I can help to place over your henna to keep it warm and from being brushed off.
*If you have lost your hair due to medical reasons, your crown will be half price. If you would like to pay it forward, you may pay full price and give a free crown to someone else. If you are interested in receiving a free crown, please inquire to see if any are waiting to be claimed.
Going beyond the body, I love to draw and paint, especially on a large scale. Often henna designs find their way into my art. If you are interested in commissioning a project, please contact me for a consultation.
